2.20.12 Happy New Year! We welcome the year with our new race director David Payne. We say goodbye and a big thank you to Jerrod Rushton our race director of 11 years. Dave has assited Jerrod for the last five years.
It's been 27 years since I started the Vermont Sun Traithlon season with the Vermont Sun Triathlon and 65 racers. We're excited to announce that after a year off we're bringing back the Vermont Sun Half Journey. and we've added another sprint race to close the season! Please check the website as it's packed with details and information.

08.07.11 Congratulations to Spenser Popeson of Linwood, NJ as he shattered the course record in todays Lake Dunmore Triathlon by posting a 2:03:32 overall finish time. Spenser topped former Ironman Lake Placid winner Alex McDonald's record of 2:04:35 set in 2007. Just for good measure, Spenser also broke the long standing run course record by posting a 33:29. Great job !
08.07.11 Congratulations to Kristie Timmer for her 2nd overall win in the past 3 years at the Lake Dunmore Triathlon. Kristie completed the .9 m Swim , 28 m Bike and 6.2 m Run in 2:19
The series is one of the oldest triathlon series' in the country. It began in 1991.
